The Custom Design Jewellery Process at Randor Jewellery Inc.

At Randor we pride ourselves in offering the very best custom design product and service. With jewelry designers, bench jewelers, stone setters, polishers, and engravers, there is no jewellery item that cannot be made We offer the complete custom jewellery design experience from start to finish!!

Step 1: Concept

Our customer wanted this ring but with a halo with the same setting style (pave) as the shank.

Think about what the ideal piece of custom jewellery , ring, engagement ring, earring set, or pendant would be. Look around online on our finished jewellery categories and custom designed jewelry gallery and find different aspects of rings that you like and dislike and print/save pictures of similar items for us to view together. Be thinking about what size and shape you would like the diamonds or colored gemstones to be and if you would like them to be set low or high, channel or prong, etc. Whether or not you know exactly what you want we have the ability to design the perfect piece of jewellery for any occasion.You can then call/email to set up a jewelry design appointment .

Step 2: Design

At Randor Jewellery we use the latest in CAD/CAM Jewellery design and jewellery manufacturing. Using the latest in computer design technology, we can design a ring, pendant, or earring set that you can preview on your computer screen and even print to show family or friends! The pictures are extremely realistic "renderings" of what the finished jewellery item will look like. With this technology there is no guess work.....the 1ct Diamond engagement ring on the screen is what your finished 1ct Diamond engagement ring will look like! Once the picture represents what you want we move on to the wax model step.

Step 3: Manufacturing

Once you have approved the picture of your custom designed jewelry item we move on to manufacturing the wax. The wax is cut on a CNC Mill that cuts along a path that the computer tells it to....all based on the ring model that you helped design and approve! After the wax is carved we have you come back in for final approval. You will get a better understanding of the design this way and if there are any changes that are needed then we can change the design on the computer and produce a modified wax.

Once the wax is completed and approved then we cast the wax into the metal (silver, gold, platinum)of your choice. After casting we do the polishing, setting of the diamonds and gemstone then the final polishing and inspection.

In all, the process take about 2 - 3 weeks from your approval of a picture to the final jewelry being set and finished.
